Defining C5 Environment
ISO 12944 classifies C5 as high humidity with salt or heavy industrial pollution—typical of coastal wind, ports and chemical plants, where ordinary paint rusts within months under salt spray.
Coating and Material Plan
- Epoxy zinc-rich primer + polyurethane topcoat, DFT ≥160 μm
- Salt-spray test ≥1000 h with no base-metal corrosion
- 304/316 stainless steel or galvanized enclosure
- FKM fluoro-rubber seals resisting ozone and aging
