FAQ

What's the difference between cabinet AC and regular AC?
Cabinet AC is designed for industrial electrical cabinets with IP55 protection, wide temperature range (-40°C~+55°C), vibration resistance, and continuous duty operation. Regular home AC cannot meet these industrial requirements.
What is a box-type transformer air conditioner? Why do transformer boxes need cooling?
A box-type transformer AC is designed for outdoor compact substations (European/American type transformer boxes, RMU boxes) where transformers and LV/HV equipment concentrate heat and can trip in summer. Haocheng HCK 3000–7500W cabinet AC units apply directly: IP55 dust/rain protection, -40~55°C range, wall/top mounting and 48V DC option — keeping transformers stable, extending equipment life and reducing outage losses.
What's the difference between prefab cabin AC and cabinet AC?
A prefab cabin (integrated prefab substation, energy-storage cabin, containerized equipment room) is larger than a single cabinet and generates more concentrated heat, so it needs higher cooling capacity and more even airflow. Haocheng 5000W/7500W models suit prefab cabin cooling with top/side mounting and RS485 remote monitoring, providing precise climate control for primary/secondary devices and storage batteries in dusty, rainy, hot or cold environments.
Are industrial air conditioners and cabinet air conditioners the same thing?
Industrial AC broadly covers refrigeration equipment for industrial environments (workshops, plants, equipment rooms). Cabinet AC is the sub-category focused on electrical enclosures: closed-loop compression cooling, IP55 protection, -40~55°C operation and long service life to protect electrical components. Haocheng's full cabinet AC series belongs to this high-end segment of industrial AC — for control panels, distribution cabinets, telecom cabinets and more.
Besides vapor-compression cooling, what other ways cool electrical enclosures?
Common options: ①Filter fans — air exchange only, no real cooling, useless in high heat; ②Heat exchangers/heat pipes — passive, fail when the temperature difference is small; ③Thermoelectric (TEC) — no compressor, silent, but low capacity, for small cabinets only; ④Vapor-compression (cabinet AC) — active cooling with precise control, ideal for high heat loads and outdoor high-temperature sites. Haocheng uses compression cooling with smart control, balancing effect and energy use.
How to choose the right cooling capacity?
Based on cabinet size, internal heat load, and ambient temperature. Generally: small cabinets (<1m³) → 3000W, medium (1-2m³) → 5000W, large (>2m³) → 7500W. Our engineers can provide precise sizing calculations.
What's the warranty period?
All Haocheng products come with a 2-year warranty. Core components (compressors) have a 3-year warranty. Free repair or replacement for non-artificial damage during warranty.
Do you support customization?
Yes. Our core business model is design solutions. We can customize for special dimensions, voltages, or operating conditions. Call +86 15669806069 for details.
How does a cabinet air conditioner work?
It uses a vapor-compression cooling cycle. The internal loop draws hot air from the cabinet, cools it through the evaporator, and returns it; the external loop rejects heat to the outside via the condenser. Closed-loop control avoids introducing outside dust and moisture, keeping electrical components stable.
How to calculate cabinet AC cooling capacity? Is there a formula?
Total cooling load Q = Q_internal (equipment heat) + Q_solar (radiation) + Q_conduction (wall) + Q_convection (surrounding air). Example: 2000W equipment + 200W solar + 150W conduction + 50W convection ≈ 2400W → choose 3000W with ~20% margin.
Cabinet AC vs fan / heat exchanger — what's the difference?
A fan only circulates air, it does not cool. A heat exchanger transfers heat passively by temperature difference and fails when the gap is small or ambient is hot. A cabinet AC actively cools and is the right choice for high heat loads and hot environments.
What does IP55 mean and why does a cabinet AC need it?
IP55 means dust-protected and protected against water jets. Industrial sites have dust, oil and rain; IP55 keeps the electrical and cooling system reliable long-term, especially outdoors and near the coast.
How much does a cabinet air conditioner cost? What affects the price?
Price varies with cooling capacity, customization, protection grade (e.g. IP56/C5 anti-corrosion), power (AC or 48V DC) and order quantity. Standard models have a price range; custom units need a quoted solution. Call +86 15669806069 or email INFO@ZJHCC.COM.
What mounting types are available for cabinet AC?
Common mounts are wall-mounted (side), flush/embedded (door), top-mounted and side-mounted, chosen by cabinet structure and space. Haocheng's full range supports multiple mounts and can be customized.
How much power does a cabinet AC consume? How many kWh per day?
Cabinet ACs run intermittently: once the set temperature is reached, the compressor slows or stops to hold it, so they are not at full load all the time. A 3000W unit averages roughly 0.8–1.2 kW, about 15–25 kWh per day at industrial rates; actual use varies with ambient delta-T and door openings. The energy cost is tiny compared with downtime losses from overheated equipment.
Does a cabinet AC need regular refrigerant top-up or maintenance?
A properly sealed system does not need regular refrigerant charging — R410A is only added if there is a leak. Recommended every 6–12 months: clean the condenser/evaporator fins and filter, check drainage, tighten electrical terminals, and verify the fan runs quietly. Haocheng provides maintenance guides and spare parts.
Do your cabinet ACs have CE or export certifications? Can you export?
Haocheng cabinet ACs are built to industrial standards and support CE and other export certifications, with 220V/50Hz or 48V DC power options for global markets (Europe, CIS, South America, Middle East, etc.). Certifications and voltage can be supplied per target market — email INFO@ZJHCC.COM or call +86 15669806069.
What is the EER of a cabinet AC? Is it power-hungry?
EER = cooling capacity ÷ cooling power. For HCK-5K00022L: 5000W ÷ 1700W ≈ 2.9, a normal level for industrial AC. Cabinet ACs use closed-loop control — once the set temperature is reached the compressor slows or stops, so they don't run at full load continuously and are quite energy-efficient. Compared with downtime losses from overheated equipment, the running cost is minimal.
What are common cabinet AC faults and how to troubleshoot?
Common cases: ① no cooling — check power, compressor, refrigerant leak; ② alarm/shutdown — check overload protection and whether the condenser is clogged; ③ condensation/leak — check sealing and drain pipe; ④ abnormal noise — check fan and fasteners. Clean fins/filter every 6–12 months; most minor faults are solved by cleaning and reset. For persistent issues call +86 15669806069 for technical support.
Is the R410A refrigerant in cabinet ACs environmentally friendly? Do I need regular top-up?
R410A is the current mainstream eco-friendly refrigerant (no ozone-depleting CFC/HCFC) with higher efficiency than legacy R22, meeting industrial environmental requirements. A sealed system needs no regular charging — R410A is only added on leakage. Every Haocheng unit passes leak and pressure tests before delivery to ensure long-term sealing.
Is a cabinet AC noisy? What are the noise levels?
Noise rises with capacity: 3000W ≈ 60dB, 3500W ≈ 61dB, 5000W ≈ 65dB, 7500W ≈ 70dB (at 1 m). Cabinet ACs are mostly installed in unmanned spaces like switchgear rooms and outdoor prefab cabins, so this level doesn't affect personnel; for noise-sensitive sites choose a low-noise model or add vibration pads.
Can you send a sample first? What is the sample policy?
Yes. Standard models can be trial-ordered from 1 unit; non-standard custom units are built as prototypes after solution design for your on-site testing before mass production. Samples carry the same 2-year warranty. Contact +86 15669806069 or email INFO@ZJHCC.COM for the sample process.
Do you offer OEM/ODM private-label manufacturing?
Yes. Haocheng supports OEM branding and ODM co-design: housing color (RAL chart), company logo silkscreen/laser engraving, nameplate and packaging can all be customized to your brand, MOQ 1, solution in 48h. We already OEM for several domestic and overseas industrial-equipment makers — see the Custom page or call +86 15669806069.
What is the lead time for cabinet ACs? How soon can you ship?
Standard models: typically 7–15 working days (subject to stock). Custom units: solution confirmed within 48h, prototype 7–15 days, mass production 15–30 days. Rush orders can be expedited by arrangement. Our engineer gives a clear lead time before order; for large batches please plan ahead to secure capacity.
Which industries and applications are cabinet ACs suitable for?
Widely used in: power distribution (switchgear/ring-main cabinets), telecom base stations, data centers and server racks, wind/solar energy-storage prefab cabins, EV charging piles and battery-swap stations, industrial automation (CNC/PLC control cabinets), rail transit, metallurgy and chemical, outdoor integrated cabinets — any industrial scenario that needs stable cooling and temperature control for equipment inside electrical cabinets.
