Why Mount High
Hot air is less dense and collects at the cabinet top. The AC intake should sit near the top to capture hot air, while cold air is discharged low, creating top-down circulation that prevents hot spots.
Airflow and Return
| Factor | Requirement |
|---|---|
| AC position | Upper cabinet |
| Supply/return | Cold low, hot high |
| Internal baffle | Guide flow to heat sources |
| Clearance | ≥50mm intake gap |
Pitfalls
- Don't let adjacent cabinets or walls block condenser in/out airflow (short cycle).
- Condensate drain must slope downward; no reverse slope or U-trap pooling.
- Keep heat sources off the direct cold-air face to avoid condensation.
