Noise Sources and Metrics
Cabinet AC noise comes mainly from the compressor and condenser/evaporator fans, measured in dB(A). Residential and indoor sites often require ≤65 dB(A); reference standard EN 12102.
Mitigation Measures
- Use EC DC fans: low speed, high flow reduces blade-tip noise
- Mount compressor on rubber isolators to block structure-borne sound
- Lining with dual-layer acoustic foam
- Optimize ducting to cut turbulence and regenerated noise
