Coastal Salt-Mist Anti-Corrosion Design for Prefab Cabin AC

Corrosion Mechanism and Protection Class

Coastal airborne chloride can reach 0.1–1 mg/m³ and condensation pH can drop to 3–4, pitting normal cold-rolled steel. HCK coastal units are built to ISO 12944 C5-M (marine) with a 15-year target life.

FAQ

How often should coastal prefab AC get anti-corrosion maintenance?

Flush coil salt dust every 3 months and check coat thickness and fastener torque yearly; in heavy salt areas shorten to every 2 months.

Is 316L much better than 304 stainless in coastal use?

304 suffers pitting and intergranular corrosion under chlorides; 316L has higher PREN thanks to molybdenum, so coastal duty mandates 316L.
