Low-Temp Pump Principle
An enhanced-vapor-injection (EVI) scroll compressor adds mid-pressure refrigerant to raise the ratio, heating down to -25 °C with COP about 2.0–2.5 @ -10 °C, avoiding electric-heater draw.
Defrost and Reliability
- Reverse-cycle/hot-gas bypass defrost uses coil ΔT and timer dual criteria to shorten frost time and limit temperature drift.
- Winter ESS needs insulation to avoid electrolyte thickening, higher internal resistance and lithium plating; keep cabin 15–25 °C.
- Electric heat backs up only in extreme cold or during defrost to prevent supply-air drop.
