Box Substation & Transformer for Latin America

Haocheng configures box substations and power transformers for Latin American conditions - tropical humidity, coastal salt exposure, high-altitude derating and a 50/60Hz grid split - with project-specific rating and documentation.

Built for Tropical, Coastal and High-Altitude Sites

Latin American projects span humid tropical lowlands, salt-exposed coastlines and high-altitude Andean sites, across grids that are 60Hz in some countries and 50Hz in others. Haocheng box substations and transformers are configured per site rather than supplied as a single standard build.

Box Substation & Transformer for Latin America

Regional Conditions We Design For

Tropical humidity and rain

High humidity and heavy rainfall demand sealed enclosures, controlled ventilation and moisture-resistant insulation systems.

Coastal salt corrosion

Coastal and port sites need anti-corrosion coating and sealed entries against salt-laden air.

High altitude

Above 1000 m, reduced air density lowers cooling capacity and dielectric strength; rating is reviewed and derated accordingly.

50 / 60Hz grid split

Brazil, Mexico and others operate at 60Hz while others use 50Hz; voltage and frequency are configured per project.

Recommended Configuration

Enclosure

Steel enclosure IP33~IP54, specified to IP54+ with anti-corrosion coating for humid, coastal or high-rainfall sites.

Transformer type

Dry-type SCB10/SCB11 preferred for indoor, fire-sensitive and humidity-controlled rooms; oil-immersed S11/S13 for outdoor duty.

Ratings

50-2500 kVA with altitude derating applied; 50Hz or 60Hz configured per project, with the required LV voltage.

Switchgear

KYN28A-12 / HXGN HV chambers and GCK/GCS/MNS LV distribution per the single-line diagram.

Standards and Documentation

Equipment is supplied to IEC standards with CE marked and CCC. Export documentation is provided, and we support local conformity work (for example INMETRO, NOM or IRAM frameworks) with the technical file and test reports required by the destination authority. Share your project parameters for selection.

50Hz or 60Hz?

Both are configured per project. Confirm country grid frequency and LV voltage at enquiry stage so the unit is built correctly.

How is altitude handled?

Above 1000 m, cooling capacity and dielectric strength are reduced; the rating is reviewed and derated for the site altitude.

Oil-immersed or dry-type for humid sites?

Dry-type SCB10/SCB11 is often preferred indoors for fire safety and humidity control; oil-immersed S11/S13 suits outdoor substations.

What protection for coastal sites?

IP54+ enclosure with anti-corrosion coating and sealed gland entries against salt-laden air.

What documents are supplied?

IEC-based test reports, CE marked and CCC documentation, export documents, plus technical file support for local certification.
